I Gazed
I gazed into the eyes of a heavenly creature,
And saw within the depths of the pools there my inner self.
Continuing to sink until held in a pool of serenity and peace,
I knew that she was the love of my life.
Gently we were carried in a sea of love,
Joining together to form an unbreakable bond.
The music of the heavens tenderly caressing our senses,
We formed a covenant with God to be three as one.
She has led me to a higher ground,
Where love and peace abound.
No other has ever held me in their embrace
And taught me such pleasures as simple grace.
I share with her things most personal and private.
And I trust her completely with all that I am,
Because she is the one who has made me a man.
And she has opened my heart to understand.
A gift from God, she must truly be,
For without her, I am not me.
And for what do I deserve this heavenly award,
A blessing of love given by our Lord.
No service performed nor task to be repaid,
I am given this creature to brighten my days.
And only one reason for such gifts divine,
My faith in Lord Jesus has blessed me and mine.
